Lamar’s struggles vs Pittsburgh

Lamar Jackson’s ranks No. 2 in the NFL with 2,669 passing yards and is tied with Baker Mayfield and Joe Burrow for the lead in passing touchdowns (24). He’s tossed only two interceptions and added 538 rushing yards and two scores. In other words, Jackson is a worthy +125 favorite to win his second-straight and third-career NFL MVP.

Lamar has struggled versus Mike Tomlin, however, sporting a 2-4 career record against the Steelers with six passing TDs and seven interceptions.

Tomlin for Coach of the Year?

Mike Tomlin is the +300 favorite to win his first career Coach of the Year award after leading his club to a surprising 7-2 record. The Steelers head coach was second-guessed for benching Justin Fields for Russell Wilson. But, Mr. Unlimited is now 3-0 as a starter with 737 passing yards, 6 TDs, 1 INT and a 105.9 passer rating.

Following Pittsburgh’s 28-27 win over Washington last Sunday, Tomlin was asked to compare rookie QB Jayden Daniels to Lamar Jackson. Not wanting to give his AFC North rival any bulletin board material, Tomlin replied, “Man, be real slow comparing people to Lamar Jackson. That’s a multi-time MVP. That’s Mr. Jackson.”

Pittsburgh vs Baltimore

Pittsburgh is a 3-point home underdog on Sunday, and the over/under is set at 47.5 points. With second-year OC Todd Monken calling the shots, the Ravens have the top-scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 31.8 points per game. The Steelers rank No. 12 (23.9 PPG) in year one with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.

Mike Tomlin’s team is No. 2 in scoring defense (16.2 PPG allowed). Meanwhile, John Harbaugh’s club is bottom-ten in points allowed per game (25.3).

Key Matchups

Derrick Henry leads the NFL with 1,120 rushing yards in his first season with Baltimore. The Steelers defense only allows 87.1 rushing yards per game to opponents (No. 4 in NFL).

Baltimore’s D is No. 1 in rushing yards allowed (73.0), however, they rank dead-last against the pass, permitting 294.9 yards per game.

Best Bet

With both teams stiff against the run, Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson should be forced to air it out on Sunday. While Tomlin has had success against the Ravens QB in the past, Lamar has been unstoppable this season.

Coming off 10 days rest after playing last Thursday, the Ravens (-3) will pummel Pittsburgh at home in Week 11 with the UNDER 47.5.
